Posted by Debbie IN California on September 22, 2009 at 08:04:32: I just recently purchased a new laptop. It's a great computer, and all that, but the transfer of data from one computer to another, and the "weeding out" of all the old stuff, that really is no longer needed is rather a difficult task. Old e-mail that I have saved, be them good or bad, are all evaluated and decided for the "keep or delete" files. Strange how we hold onto the bad as much as the good, when we KNOW that viewing them is going to stir up pain, but yet we hold them as dear to us as the ones that bring back happy memories. We are so much like this in *REAL* life. It's equally as difficult in deciding which to cling to in our hearts. The good memories, or the bad. To hit the delete icon on painful memories can be as tragic as if we deleted the good. The key (for me) is in finding the balance of both, the good and the not so good. The important, and the unimportant. The focus is the balancing, knowing that both bring us to our perfectly created self. Realizing that both "the good and the not so good" has created our beautiful personalities, and the compassion that we have for one another. If we only had good events in our life we would never feel the need to reach out to someone who is heartbroken. We would never feel the need to embrace someone who is crying or understand the mentally crushed under the weight of their situations. I am juggling my life as I am presently juggling the *2* computers. Delete/ Save. It's a work in progress. Moving ahead is a change, and for me... I don't always like change, as it forces me onto unfamiliar ground that I am not accustomed. It's another lesson for me in Embracing whatever emotion appears, and befriending life with all its wild array of ups and downs. Well... that's it for me for this month. Praying for peace within *everyone's* mind and heart. : ) From Pema"
