Posted by SarahS on May 16, 2007 at 16:52:25: Hey folks, Ugh. I had an "adventure" in the ER yesterday, which is one of my BIGGIES. I hate, hate, hate hospitals. And unfortunately, the reason I had to go was due to a miscarriage. They were hoping they could save the wee one, but it didn't happen. Poor little cluster of cells just couldn't hang on this time. Today I'm feeling really, really sad (which I know is a normal response to this kind of loss) and really shakey/nervous/etc. Some of that is physical, of course, but most of it is from feeling such intense emotions. It's weird how attached I got to the idea of this baby-to-be, even though I was really only a few weeks along. Yesterday hit all of my hard points anxiety-wise also: blood, nausea, dizziness, hospitals, needles, etc. Well, I'm shaking myself off, crying when I need to, and hugging my 2 1/2 year old daughter extra tight and extra long. I just hope the shaky feeling ends soon, that's a hard one for me to work through. Let's here it for the next ovulation! Go ovaries, go! :| Sigh. Thanks for listening, folks. Nice to know you're here.

My thoughts are with you, Sarah! I hate needles, too! I agree with Kate in that the embryo might not be able to survive in the world...and that is nature's way of doing the right thing. Maybe that doesn't make you feel any better. Keep your chin up! You have support here! Go with the flow of your feelings...

Feel all the shakiness you need, in my opinion, you actually have a real reason to freak. I've always thought a miscarriage is nature's way of saying that embryo will just not survive in the world, and that is it. No guilt, no "what ifs". I can see you are thinking in the same way, good for you. I can imagine you were attached to the life source already. But you will absolutely get the next go'round! We will wear cheerleader outfits if need be! Go ovary go! Team ovary! :) Good luck to you, and again, I am sorry for your loss. Kate |
