Hello. I have been homebound on and off for a very long time. I go through cycles of kinda being okayish and then bam, i am homebound again. The longest time i was confined was about 10 months. Nick.

Congratulations, Starr! I think that is the best way, baby steps. Boy, with all this anxious talk, I wish everyone on this forum could get together for support. I guess this is good, too!

It took me a while to slowly get better, but now I no longer consider myself housebound. I still have my bad days, but they don't prevent me from doing what I want. It sounds as if you were feeling a little depressive, which is natural in that situation. It will get better, it does get better. You need to believe it, and slowly work on it. You'll find the will to get out, and the strength inside to get better. Hugs from here :-)

I was never completely homebound, but definitely was limited in where I could go. I'm not anymore for the most part--it can get better!

Hello Starr! You definitely will find comfort here, and others with the same feelings. I've only been here for about 3 weeks, and think this is a great forum to talk amongst others with the same fears. Welcome! |

Do you have panic attacks with agoraphobia? The first step is to identify what you have, in my opinion. Once diagnosed, if you actually want to get out in the world, you will. I think when we feel as though we do not want to do anything, it is more a question of fearing all things. Fear begets depression which makes us stuck in the mud. I think we have all been homebound here in one way or another, so you are not alone. Let us know more about you, this is a great place to share and learn. Kate
