grumpyALSO TOUGH NIGHT in ANXIETY VILLE

I've had 4 nights this week that I got only 3-4 hrs sleep and it is getting me down!!! I can't sleep in the daytime either----where's MR SANDMAN????????/
I was tired last night and thought OH YES!!! TONIGHT I WIL SLEEP-----WRONG!!! Went to bed and got relaxed and was WIDE AWAKE!!! until 2:30-5:30 a.m. or there about these times. Thought I would surely res this afternoon since I am so tired ---WRONG!!! tried for 3 hrs. to no avail AT ALL!!!I do the relaxation exercises that usually work, I got me a warm shower, all the things I've ever heard of and nohting is helping!!! I'm so tired and hubby has to see the DR. tomorrow a.m. in his office 35 miles from home, and I really need to be there for this one as he will have an e-ray and labs before his visit and then he will also tell us about his CT scan from last month and etc.!!! But, unless I feel better than the last 4 days I won't be able to go!!!! :o(
Anyways, it's got to get better!!! KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!!!!

            hi, i am new here but i do know what u feel like i go through that alot to, i have meds to sleep but i dont like to take them. hope everything with hubby went well. and also hope u got to be with him. i also do the meditation to try to sleep sometimes it works and some times it just doesnt.

            I hope you've managed to get some sleep by now. I know how hard it is when you know you need to sleep and you just can't sleep at all. Then the next day is in front of you and there you are, with no strength.

            I wish I had some advice. The only thing that -sometimes- works for me is focusing on my breathing. I try to think only of how I breathe in and breathe out, or if I can, I do breathing exercises, but sometimes I'm too tense to do that. I guess the key is to try not to think about sleeping, and then you fall asleep. But it's difficult.

            In any case, I hope you managed to sleep the next night, and that all went well with your husband.

            Its like a vicious cycle too. You want to sleep so bad you obsess about it and it keeps you up. Eventually though...it will sort out and you'll be back on a normal schedule. The best I can suggest is taking a nice hot bath or shower before bed...drinking some warm milk...and laying in bed thinking about relaxing each muscle.
